UTI's are NOT fun to get. I know I have had my share of them. In fact, I am just getting over a nasty one. My Dr put me on cypro and that took care of it.

How many others here have had a UTI and what did your doctors do for you?

I haven't payed much attention to this area because in Oct 08, I was told while I was in the hospital I had one. I didn't know it and during that time didnt' care. Right now is a different story though. I noticed my urine smelling really strange, so when I saw the uro doctor this week, he had me tested and I have another one. He started me on Sulfameth/Trimethoprim. I have only been taking it for two days, and boy is it causing me to go. This is one of those times your thankful for the protection you wear.

I use diapers only as well... and have never had a UTI that I am aware of (knock on wood) I have limited my caffeine and sugar intake and drink plenty of water.

How often are you experiencing the UTIs Ron? Have you asked your doctor about them?

Hi Ron
The best thing I know of for UTI's is Cranberry juice But be sure to get the juice that is from concentrate. NOT PASTERIZED :!: When they Pasteurize something they kill most of the nutreance. Drink lots of it and it will usually knock it out of you.................Sandy :)

Because of having to self cath to empty totally, I can't count how many UTI's I think I have had. My bladder doesn't have any feelings any more so the way I tell a UTI is starting is by the strong odor and color. When I start getting those symptoms I start drinking lots of water and like Sandy said Cranberry Juice. I hate when this happens because I have to go more, and more, and more. But it does help clear it up.
