I went to my doctor for pain in my back and she had me pee in a cup (which I was surprisingly able to do) and I tested positive for a kidney infection.

What are people's experiences with this?

Thanks

make sure to take your all the meds for this. Also, drink more water than you usually do to help flush the kidneys. Hope you feel better soon.

My wife is going through a kidney infection now. She started out feeling sick one morning, and was in the hospital by that afternoon. She was in for 5 days and still feels horrible a week after coming home. It sounds like you caught it early. I never knew just how badly a kidney infection could knock someone out. Of course, your general health has a lot to do with it. My wife isn't in the best of health on a good day...

She has been drinking much more water than usual for the last week, and heading off to the bathroom much more often as a result - especially during the night.

Yeah, I had kidney infection as well few years ago. If you have been at the doctor and you intend to take all the meds that he prescribed for you, then you will be fine. It's not a big deal, it only sounds bad but not a big problem at all. As other have said drink plenty of water, I didn't mind beer as well - though not too much as on top of your infection don't add another problems to your body, your body is weakened now so don't force it to cope with more problems.

Drink Cranberry Juice.

It will help to clear it up.

Just to request an update on how your kidney infection is being treated, and whether the antibiotic has worked. I look forward to good news.

Rotten luck get well soon!

Bit of an old tail however yoghurt helps the antibiotics work better "this works for me".

As others have said drink plenty and complete the course of antibiotics medication.

Take care

I totally forgot about this! I just caught it early. It was definitely worse this time and a direct result of cathing. 2 times in a year. Yikes
