happy vent

You have patiently accepted my complaints in the past. This is not a complaint.

One threat that gastric paralysis poses is that the frequent regurgitation/vomiting it causes leads to esophageal cancer by eroding the esophagus with stomach acid. Last week my ENT doctor ran a scope down my esophagus to check it out, and the result is that I do not have cancer or even the precursor to cancer. Warning: If your doctor tells you that your esophagus needs to be scoped, wear your heaviest protection. You will need it. Meanwhile, I'm still celebrating.

That's wonderful new, Patrick! With all that you go through, it's gratifying to know that you don't have to add that stress. Happy for you :)

Patrick, that is awesome news, and yes the last time I had surgery I left a pond on my bed. Thank God for my wife and a very helpful RN.
