back mind November last year I started to notice my underware was getting damp I didn't
pay to much attention as I have been sweating a bit after picking up an few extra pounds.
Then one day I was out and about and had my first small surge that was really noticeable as it
Wet both my underware and came through the front of my pants. A few days later it happened again
While I as out shopping at wallmart so I decided then and there to pickup some depends real fit for men
as they look and feel like regular underware. This helped with the damp feelings and the ocasional
Small surges or larger drips for about a month.

Then we went on vacation all was well for the first few days then the first large acident happened and I
Flooded the real fit with no real warning. Fortunately I did not leak and had a spare real fit, a few days later I had 2 major surges and have had at least once a day since then.

Now the last few days I am averaging 2 to 4 a day less if I reduce my liquid I take, I feel I still
have about 70% + control as I can make it to the bathroom when most urges hit but the sudden urges to pee have been happening more often and once it starts I can not stop the flow. I get a lot of phantom feelings that I have to pee and that I am peeing but there is nothing there when I check. But evey once in a while I have really wet my diaper but did not feel it.

I fear I am now starting to loose more control during the day but fortunately I still have not had an accident while asleep. I have no problem with #2 Thank God I can deal with urination surges in a Adult Diaper it's been easier to accept as time has passed.

I have a Been to the Doctor twice and we have done the first round of tests (Blood work) now just waiting for the results, hopefully it's a infection and can be cleaned up with Antibiotics.

I have been struggling with putting on full real diapers (Side tape ones) Real fit for Men were a lot easier to ware but don't have the same protection a full diaper provides.

Not sure how this will progress but I have a supporting wife and have decided to accept what ever comes from the tests as if I can't change what's happening might as well make the best of it and get on with my normal life. changing a few times while out was a challenge but it will another challenge to get use to.

Welcome to the group Rob,

That is crazy how fast this came on. Other then those that had some kind of trauma or spinal injury, that is very odd to come on this bad in three months. My suggestion would be to see a specialist like a urologist. Maybe also one to look at the brain and spinal cord. This may be the only warning you get for something much more serious.
Till then don't stress about needing a diaper. Sounds like you have something much bigger going on.

Take care and keep us posted.

Welcome to the group Rob. Hopefully, the docs will find out what is going on soon. It can be frustrating, but keep in mind you are not alone. There are a lot of useful people and information on this site so don't be afraid to ask any questions.

Hi rob

Welcome so sorry that you have found your way here however you are among a great bunch of people.

I was lucky to find this community when I started wearing diapers 24/7 the below link contains lots of useful and life saving advice. I tried the pull-up option but gave up and went for full mini day diaper Attends Active Slip 10 other similar options avalible from other brands as it made it a lot easer to fit and change when out.

You have my sympathy.

Take care and do not worry too much you have found the best place that I have found to help.

Thanks all for the welcome, I have been reading the forums here and have found a great group of people who really want to help others get through the ruff times at the start and through out the whole experience.

My doctor is going to get an appointment with a urologist as soon as the blood work tests come in, hopefully the tests results will be in early next week.

Today's been a better day only one unexpected accident the rest of the times I made it to the bathroom in time. Will keep you all updated she. The test results come in and she the urologist says once I get to see one.

Thanks again for the support

Rob

Well.....you're among friends here, Rob. Take heart that there are cures out there for certain types of incontinence. For certain others, there seems to be no good answers. When you get to that point you resort to wearing diapers, catheters, etc........ Seems as though you're getting by with pullups (Depend real fit or Depend underwear for men) I also use pullups while working but prefer the security of a regular diaper while at home. While I like the pullups for work, I prefer the Tena for men pullup. I think this is a superior product and I buy them on Amazon.com. They're typically not available in drugstores as most of the good diapers aren't available in drugstores, only online. One thing you may consider with your pullups is to add a male guard (pad) to the pullup to make the garment last a bit longer. This seems to work for me for right now. Good luck, keep us updated and feel free to ask questions and use this resource to its fullest potential. This site is great, the people are great and we really are a small family.

rob110,

Add my welcome to those above. If you go to a urologist, brace yourself for a series of embarrassing examinations. Try to remind yourself that the staff see this many times every day on the job, that you are not an exception, and, if you believe the Kimberly-Clark folks, there are some 65,000,000,000 others in the USA just like you. Thee are many ways of managing incontinence; I think most of us here use diapers, though that does take some getting used to, and choosing diapers can arouse the opposition of our doctors.

here is an update on my issues, My blood work came back clean :) and my Doctor has made a referral to a urologist now just have to wait for them to contact me with the appointment time and date. Not looking forward to tests but I really want to find out what's wrong and really don't want to take any drugs as the side affects look worse then incontincy,.

I have noticed when I had a surge in the beginning I got a little bit of warning just before I started to pee but the other day 2 of the surges I didn't notice until after I started to pee.

I have started a log to record what's happening but haven't seen any pattern when and where the surges happen.

Will let you know what the urologist says once I see him or her

Rob

This all sounds very familiar. I started with some slight dribbling and damp and staind underwear which gradually got worse. Unfortunately I did begin to have bedwetting problems which gradually got worse. I now have little bladder control and wear nappies all the time. After lots of tests it was finally decided that my diabetes was and is the major factor in my incontinence. I have been warned that I will have to live with it and have now got used to wearing nappies and find it only a minor hindrance.

Went to the urologist today, thought it would just be a consultation but he ended up checking my bladder with a camera it was not as bad as I thought it would be only felt a little bit of discomfort at the point the camera entered the blader.

On the good side he did not see any issues and my prostat was not an issue, while the camera was inserted the pumped in water to fill my blader I really did not notice it until the camera was removed.
My blader emptied completely according to the nurse that did an ultra sound to see what was left in my blader.

The urologist said I have an over active blader and that's what's causing my sudden surges. He wants me to signup for a testing study to see how the medication to help correct my issue works. He said there are different drugs being used in the test group and since I have never taken any inconstance drugs like flow Max I am a good candidate for the study. I said I needed to think about it, my concern is if I start to take medication to control my surges do I always have to take the drug or do they solve the issue after s few months.

With the possiable side effects I am not sure if I want to try the test and he did not say what drug I would be on if I say yes. But they probably would once the tests start.

Not sure what do do so any feed back would be great

Rob
